1st Fire Victims

Today was our second day at the Caldwell House. There are so many people that want to help us, it’s almost unbelievable. Everyone involved has made sure we have all the necessities. We are amazed by all of these loving and caring people. Thank God for the Caldwell’s, Skip, everyone at Calvary Baptist Church, Amber at Red Cross and anyone else I have forgotten.

Today is our last day, everything was such a blessing. I just can’t put how much we appreciate this into words.

Thank you! Katie, Brandon, Adam, Makayle, Aaron and Corey

Today we moved in. We are so grateful that we were able to stay here! We had no idea what we were going to do and by the grace of God we found you. We have a lot of people that are helping us and we are so grateful. We will be able to move back home at the end of next week. I’m so glad we don’t have to come up with the money to move. Today, the ladies from Summitville Fire Auxillary are stopping by to check on us. We are so excited to get back home but sure going to miss staying here! Today we moved back home. We appreciate everything that your organization has done for us. We had a wonderful time staying in your beautiful home.We will never forget what you have done for us. Thank you and God bless all of you.

Mr. & Mrs. Caldwell

Thank you so much for the use of your son’s home, it has been a great comfort for us and expecially to our little ones knowing they are safe. (Motel room with 2 1/2 year old twins is NO FUN!) I am very grateful to live in a town with a fire department that was awesome to us. We can’t thank you enough for all your kindness, this house will not be forgotten.

To: Connie & Frank,

Words cannot say what a lifesaver you two have been to me and my daughter. Without the “Fire Rescue” organization help I would not had a place to stay after the fire. I will never forget you or yhour help. You will always be in my prayers and so will your son, Eric as I know when I cried myself to sleep the first few nights there is a calming in this house. Thank you for everything.

Well, this is our first morning waking up in this beautiful home. I am trying to stay positive and count my blessings after the devastating fire that took our home from us. My husband, Tommy, just left to take the children to school. Jayln 14, Jordon 12, Brooklyn 7 and Ava 5. They have handled the situation so well, we are trying so very hard to give them normality. Trying to keep everything the way it was. The children love the home. We all feel so comfortable. The resources from the “Fire Rescue House’ organization that are available to us amazes me! We willget through this and we will be strong for it.

If not for Frank and Connie Caldwell I don’t know where we would have laid our heads last night. We were able to sit around a kitchen table and eat dinner as a family. So many things to be thankful for.

One day at a time. Crystal Summers

When I met the Caldwell’s for the first time it was heart breaking to see two people standing before me, walking me thru this beautiful house, being so friendly and yet I could feel their pain. Here I was broke down not knowing what would be next for my family and yet my pain was nothing compared to the pain I saw in Mrs. Caldwell’s eyes as tears ran down her face as she talked about Eric. I wanted to hug her tightly and cry with her, but I was not sure of her reaction. I don’t know who this letter is for nor do I know if anyone will read it, but to Mr. and Mrs. Caldwell, you both have made me and my children’s heart smile again, and yes hearts can smile when they are touched by God’s blessing hands. We are forever greatful and I pray we will cross paths again…

Love, Patricia Santiago

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone at the Caldwell Fire Rescue House in Alexandria. You have no idea what being able to stay here the past couple of weeks has meant to us. After losing our house we stayed at a motel for a week while my niece was bounced around between family members, once we got here we were all finally able to be together again and sit down to a home cooked meal. We are a family that tries to have dinner together every night so to start to get even a little bit of our normal life back was so amazing. You are doing a great thing here and hopefully one day we will be able to pay that back, even just a little bit.
